Every Sunday is Special

2018BookFair"Every Sunday is Special" at Trinity!!  Sometimes the Sunday simply has a special theme that is connected to the service.  Other times it is a full blown party after worship for fun, fellowship and education.  Simple service projects are also completed from time to time.  And special food is always popular!

Coming up for "Every Sunday is Special"

August 25: Blessing of the Bags

Bring your backpack, your workbag, or any bag for a Blessing of the Bags. A special tag will be given for each bag as a reminder of God’s peace. The Blessing of the Bags is for everyone of all ages - - not just our kids.

September 1: Instant Bucket Children's Message

This Sunday will put a twist on the Children's Message. One family will choose an item or two to put into a bucket that Pastor Brian will see on the spot and create a Children's Message using whatever he finds in the bucket. Come and see what happens!

September 8: God's Work. Our Hands.

As we've become more engaged with finding new ways to support Pillars and the families that live there, this year our God's Work Our Hands project will center on that support, too. After church, all are invited to stay and help plant mums that will be taken and delivered to the families at Pillars. From playing with the kids at Pillars, to donating socks and underwear to the shelter, to planting mums, there are all sorts of simple things we can do to connect with the community at Pillars. This project is one more way to strengthen that connection.

September 15: Celebration Potluck

To celebrate Katie's internship, we will hold a potluck after worship. Katie has asked us to "bring something your grandma used to make for you or that you grew up eating." THANK YOU to Katie for her sharing her gifts, her joy, her enthusiasm and her wisdom with us. (Classes will begin on September 16 for Katie. Thankfully, she will still be with us leading music at worship!)

September 22: Baptismal Blessings

It is exciting to look forward to a baptism on September 22. Hazel VandenHeuvel will be baptized that morning. Hazel is the little sister to Lewis, Evan & JD; her parents are Sarah & Andrew VandenHeuvel. Help us welcome Hazel into God's family with open arms!

September 29: Treat the Teachers

In conjunction with the collection for Lincoln Elementary, on Sunday, September 29, special treats will be put together to encourage, affirm & thank the teachers at the beginning of the school year. See the related article on page 4 of the September Tidings about the collection for Lincoln Elementary.

Previous "Every Sunday is Special" Sundays have included Superhero Sunday, Sundae Sunday, ADVENT-ure (an Advent party), Backpack Blessing, Tailgate Party, an All Congregation Nativity Pageant, Living Loved and so many more!
