Historical Highlights Early in 1913, the church extension board of the United Lutheran Church in America surveyed Appleton with a view toward establishing an English-speaking Lutheran congregation. December 13, 1914 Appleton’s first English Lutheran services. February 7, 1915 Trinity English Evangelical Lutheran Church was formally organized in Odd Fellows Hall with 15 charter members and 3 children. 1917 Trinity’s chapel was completed and Lutheran Parish Bulletin debuted. December 9, 1923 construction for a larger sanctuary began at S. Allen and E. Kimball Streets. |

1925 Trinity dedicated a new sanctuary and parsonage. March 14, 1954 Construction for the Parish Hall began. 1961 the congregation authorized construction of an enlarged, remodeled sanctuary. February 1965 a three-week observance of Trinity’s 50th Anniversary. 1995 building appeal: new entry from the parking lot equipped with an elevator, handicap accessibility, relocated church offices with better security control, expanded fellowship areas and renovation of lower auditorium. September 15, 1996 Trinity dedicated its “new building.” Today Trinity is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the largest and most moderate of Lutheran denominations in the USA. |
